Windows SMTP Relay Service

Every device on your network deserves reliable email.

SMTP Hopper is a lightweight SMTP relay that hops mail from your printers, scanners, and line-of-business apps out to Microsoft 365, Amazon SES, SMTP2GO, and any authenticated SMTP provider โ€” with durable queueing, automatic retries, and a clean HTTPS admin console.

Installs in minutes as a native Windows service. No agents on your devices. No cloud dependency.

One relay. Every device. Zero lost mail.

Modern mail providers keep tightening what they accept. Your printers and legacy apps never got the memo. SMTP Hopper bridges the gap.

Never lose a message

Every message is written to disk the instant it's accepted, then delivered by a background worker with exponential backoff and up to 8 retry attempts. Provider hiccup? Your mail waits safely, then hops.

Secure by default

SMTP AUTH required on every inbound connection, STARTTLS encryption, bcrypt-hashed credentials, and a trusted IP whitelist for devices that can't authenticate. No open relay โ€” ever.

Set up in minutes

A single Windows installer registers the service, opens the firewall, and walks you through first-run setup in a friendly HTTPS web console. No Node.js, no dependencies, no linux experts required.

How SMTP Hopper works

Three hops from a device on your LAN to a delivered message.

Devices connect locally

Printers, scanners, and apps point at SMTP Hopper on your LAN (port 587) and authenticate with per-device credentials โ€” or relay by trusted IP if they can't do SMTP AUTH.

Mail is queued durably

Accepted mail hits disk immediately. A background worker delivers with exponential backoff, and permanently failed messages land in Dead Letters so nothing vanishes silently.

Hopper delivers upstream

Messages relay securely over TLS to Microsoft 365 via IP connector, or to Amazon SES, SMTP2GO, SendGrid, Mailgun, Postmark, and other authenticated providers.

๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ HTTPS Admin Console

First-run setup wizard, connector settings, relay users, live queue and log viewing โ€” all from a clean local web GUI on port 8443.

๐Ÿ“Š Built-in Analytics

Throughput charts over 24h / 7d / 30d / 90d and top-sender rankings โ€” rendered server-side, no internet access required.

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Refused Connections Audit

See the last 100 turned-away sends with source IP and reason โ€” failed logins, unauthorized senders, oversized messages โ€” at a glance.

๐Ÿ” High Availability Sync

Run multiple instances behind a load balancer. Relay users and IP whitelists stay in sync via secure peer-to-peer exchange.

๐Ÿ” Flexible Trust Models

Per-device SMTP AUTH credentials, or an IP/CIDR whitelist for devices that can't authenticate. You choose the trust boundary.

โš™๏ธ Native Windows Service

Installs as a real Windows service with auto-restart, silent deployment switches for RMM rollout, and clean uninstall.
